Workshop in the MIDST of How to analyze the evolutionary conservation of amino acids

Evolutionary conservation is an important metric in assessing the functional importance of amino acids in proteins. However, calculating evolutionary conservation in a proper way is a challenge. This skill requires knowledge of databases, tools, and particular knowledge in the genomics domain. In this workshop, I will teach the basics of homology and phylogenetics. I will also show a pipeline of evolutionary conservation starting from a single sequence to overall conservation measurement for an amino acid of interest.
